TEEN THERAPY & PARENT SUPPORT
Adolescence can feel like uncharted territory
Being a preteen or teenager can be overwhelming,
and it’s not always easy to talk about!
Support for your teen and a roadmap for you
Whether your teen is struggling with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, trauma, or the challenges of growing up — therapy can help. I work with teens and their families to create a treatment plan that feels supportive, sustainable, and in line with your goals.
I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space for teens to explore what’s on their minds, build coping skills, and feel more like themselves.
I also offer parent/caregiver coaching sessions to help you feel more confident and equipped in navigating the ups and downs in this season of life.
How therapy can help
A Dedicated Space
Adolescence is a time where we often feel misunderstood and alone. I aim to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space for my clients to process difficult experiences, feelings, and, relationships.
Build Coping Skills
Establish and practice tools for anxiety, depression, and stressors like school and friendship dynamics.
I use evidence-based approaches like Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support distress tolerance, mindfulness, and emotion regulation.
Values-Aligned Living
Being a teenager comes with big questions and even bigger feelings. I use approaches like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help teens discover their values that allow them to forge the path ahead.
Art for When Words Aren’t Enough
Art therapy is always optional, and can be a useful tool in exploring emotions, past experiences, and identity. Art can also support with challenging perfectionism.
When your teen is struggling, it can be hard to know what to say, how much to push, or when to step back. You might find yourself walking on eggshells, getting pulled into the same arguments, or worrying that nothing you do is helping. You don't have to figure it all out on your own.
Through Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), I help parents and caregivers better understand what's happening beneath their teen's behaviors and learn ways to respond that strengthen connection rather than deepen conflict. The goal isn't to be a perfect parent. It's to help you feel more confident, connected, and equipped to support your teen through difficult moments.
When Your Teen is Struggling,
You Deserve Support, Too
What does parent coaching look like?
Parent coaching sessions are a space for you to slow down, talk through what's been happening at home, and explore new ways of responding to your teen's emotions and behaviors.
Together, we might:
Make sense of the hard moments. Explore what's happening beneath the behaviors you're seeing and why certain interactions can feel so difficult.
Build skills for responding differently. Practice ways to navigate big emotions, set boundaries, and respond to challenging behaviors without getting caught in the same cycles.
Strengthen your connection. Learn how to communicate care and understanding while still holding limits and expectations.
Find your footing again. Make room for your own feelings, worries, and frustrations so you can respond more intentionally, even when things feel overwhelming.
You don't need to have all the answers before you come in. We'll start where you are and work toward changes that feel realistic and meaningful for your family.
You can be a source of support for your teen without having to get everything right.
